 Friend of Wolverine Athletics Inducted in 2000 Wilford Clyde was one of the founding members of the UVSC Wolverine Club, and was very instrumental in getting the club up and going. He served as the secretary/treasurer for several years, and has also served on the Wolverine Club Board of Directors. He has continued to support Wolverine athletics with contributions to many projects to help improve the athletic program and facilities at UVSC. Clyde has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the UVSC Foundation, and is Vice Chairman of the UVSC Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Natalie, chaired the President's Scholarship Ball, and have served on the Scholarship Ball committee for a number of years. Wilford has served in the community in many capacities. He has been chairman of the Utah Manufacturers Association and has been President of the Utah Chapter of the Associated General Contractors. He currently serves on the Board of the Utah State Employer Council, the BYU Construction Management Advisory Committee and has recently served as Chairman of the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce. In the community of Springville, Wilford has served on the City Council. He is a graduate of Springville High, where he played basketball, football, and tennis. He served a two-year LDS Church mission to New Zealand, after which he attended Brigham Young University and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting. Following graduation, Clyde began working at Geneva Rock Products, a family construction business, as the controller. He served as the vice president and general manager, and, following the death of his father in 1987, was elected President of Geneva Rock Products. He currently holds the office of Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Clyde Companies, Inc., the parent company of Geneva Rock, W. W. Clyde and Company, Sunroc Corporation, and Beehive Insurance. |
