Men's Basketball Player Inducted in 1999 Peter Martin is UVSC's all-time leading scorer on the basketball hardwoods. A seven-footer, he played for the Wolverines from 1987 through 1989, amassing 1399 points in 66 games. His career average of 21.2 points per game is also the best in UVSC history. The Wolverines went 51-15 during his playing days, including a 29-5 mark in his sophomore year, the best season record ever for UVSC. Martin earned NJCAA All-America honors. After leaving UVSC, he played for two years at Mid-America Nazarene College in Olathe, Kansas, where he led the nation in scoring with an average of 36.3 points per game. He scored 80 points in one game, and was named the District Player of the Year. He earned NAIA All-America honors. Martin has a bachelor's degree in communications and public relations from Mid-America. His wife, Julie, has an M.D. from the University of Kansas. Peter currently works as the re-marketing supervisor with Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Olathe. He and Julie have a two-year-old boy, Alex. They reside in Olathe. |
