Bentley Leads Women, Englestead Men in Montana

BOZEMAN, Mont. - The Utah Valley cross country season continued at the the 26th annual MSU Invitational, Saturday morning at Bridger Creek Golf Course where the Wolverine men finished sixth and the women fifth. Chase Englestead led the UV men, posting a time of 25:37.00 in the five-mile race. Englestead's time was 1:23 off the pace of first-place finisher Mark Korir (Wyoming). Derick Moody, Clark Nielson, Macy Butterfield and Danny Moody all finished with top-40 times. As a team, the men finished with a score of 143 and an average time of 26:01.00. Weber State won the team competition on the men's side with a score of 29. For the women, Karinne Bentley posted a time of 17:40.00 in the three-mile race. Bentley's time was good for 12th place and led the Wolverines to their fifth-place finish. Trisha Wright, Ashley Evans and Mary Nothum also finished in the top-30. Overall, the UV women's score of 112 and team average of 17:57.20. Utah State won the women's team with a score of 59. The Wolverines continue their season in two weeks when they travel to St. Paul, Mn., to compete in the Roy Griak Classic. |
