  Clark Rustand

Clark Rustand

Player Profile

Position:
Director of Golf; Men's Head Coach

Experience:
1st Season

Alma Mater:
Utah Valley, 2002
BYU, 2007

Clark Rustand is entering his first season as the Director of Golf at Utah Valley State, taking over the program on March 12, 2007.

The Utah State Amateur Champion in 2004, Rustand played two seasons for Utah Valley and was an NJCAA All-American, winning three tournaments for the Wolverines.

"We are very excited at Utah Valley to announce the hiring of Clark Rustand as our new director of golf. Clark was part of an extremely talented pool of applicants, that he ultimately rose to the top of," said Director of Athletics Mike Jacobsen. "Being a former student athlete at UVSC is also important for us. He is a Wolverine. Clark has vision and direction for where he wants the program to be, and he is the coach to make that happen. What he lacks in coaching experience, he makes up for in enthusiasm and commitment."

"This is a great opportunity because Utah Valley is new to Division I competition and it has great potential," said Rustand. "I am excited to try and fulfill that potential. It is nice to comeback to my roots where I started collegiate golf and bleed green and gold again."

Prior to coming to Orem as a player, Rustand prepped at Sabino High School in Tucson, Arizona and was All-State twice and All-Region three times. He also played golf, basketball and tennis in high school.

He graduated from Utah Valley in 2002 with an Associates degree before completing a Bachelor's in Psychology from BYU in 2007.

His father Warren played golf at the University of Arizona while brothers Eric (BYU) and Garrett (BYU-Hawaii) also played in college.

Rustand served an LDS Mission to Quezon City, Philippines from 1999-2001.

He and his wife Megan were married in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 3, 2005.
