SEDONA, Arizona - Utah Valley is in 14th place, three shots back of Southern Utah, after the opening round of the Red Rocks Invitational at the Oak Creek Country Club in Sedona, Arizona.

Senior Echo Thatcher shot a 9-over, 81 and is tied for 29th to lead the Wolverines.

Catherine Fortin of Eastern Michigan shot 73 (+1) and leads the tournament. Western Michigan leads the team competition, two shots in from of Eastern Michigan.

Ashley MacKay and Kasey Larson (+16) are tied for 67th while Abbie Lei Archibald (+17) is tied for 74th and Sarah Coop is tied for 87th to round out the Wolverines competing at the tournament.

The final round will take place Sunday morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
