UV Heads to Las Vegas
March 13, 2008
OREM, Utah - Utah Valley will have its work cut out as the Wolverines head to Las Vegas to play in the UNLV Rebel Round Robin. UV will take on previously ranked UNLV three times and Nebraska once. The Wolverines action begins on Friday afternoon with a 3 p.m. (PT) game against host school UNLV. The Wolverines and Rebels have split two previous matchups that included a 4-1win over UNLV in Utah Valley's first NCAA Division I game on Feb. 28, 2004. The Wolverines will play the Rebels later that evening for the night cap of a double header. On Saturday, UV will play Nebraska at 1 p.m. before finishing up a twinbill with the Wolverines' third game with UNLV at 3 p.m. Utah Valley is coming off a 1-3 weekend that saw the Wolverines win a thrilling come-from-behind game in extra innings against Buffalo. UV also dropped a heartbreaker to the tournament host, UC Riverside and lost a pair against Iowa. "I expect this weekend to be one of--if not the most challenging weekend we will have this year," UV head coach Todd Fairbourne said. "We are playing two high quality teams. UNLV has been a top-25 team this year. Nebraska is a Big 12 team which is always challenging. We will have to come ready to play in all aspects to have a chance." |
